I'm excited summer has offically begun, and exams are finally over! Yesterday, my dad gave me the day of to relax my wracked brain. All my exams went pretty well, all but one. Geometry. I do not like Geometry. Lol. It was just hard, but I 'm not going to whine and groan over math. It is summer, and we all should relax.

So yesterday, I spent the day sitting home and watching Korean dramas all day. Mainly one called 'The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince'. It's very very good! And absolutely adorable. It's not one of those sappy, romance ones oozing with cuddling, kissing and lover pairings that have one suffering from a terminal ailment. Well, there is someone with cancer! But she is just a minor character (the grandmother) with no love triangle of her own. I have to say, I would definately recommend it to anyone who is in for some laughs. I haven't finished it yet, but I have a few episodes left to watch. It's about one hour each episode, and17 episodes altogether.

Basically the synopsis is:

" The life of Go Eun Chan is not easy; she works many jobs to pay off debts and even gave up her feminine image. Choi Han Kyul is the heir of a big food company, but his grandmother wants him to settle down, so she arranged many dates for him. After Eun Chan bumped into Han Kyul and was mistaken for a boy, Han Kyul decided to hire Eun Chan to be his gay lover in order to avoid the arranged dates. Desperately in need of money, Eun Chan had no choice but to accept. Han Kyul's grandmother also made Han Kyul in charge of a filthy coffee shop in danger of being bankrupt. Eun Chan begged to work at the coffee shop, and not long after, feelings start to spark, except, how would Han Kyul accept his "homosexuality"? "

If you're in the mood for a 'Walk to Remember'-esque, gut-wrenching, romance movie, I totally recommend 'A Millionaire's First Love'. It's very cute and loaded with the 'awww' moments. But the end sucks, as in it's depressing. This one is about 1 1/2 to 2 hours long.

A movie that is good for a couple laughs is '200 Pounds Beauty'. It's about a singer named Hanna who is extremely obese, but with an amazing singing voice, so she is stuck hiding behind a screen singing for a talentless, skinny girl. I won't give away anymore. :] This one is also about 1 1/2 to 2 hours long.

I also read Sarah Dessen's novel Lock and Key yesterday. I have to say, I was greatly disappointed with the book. It was not good at all! It was about 415 pages long, and the inciting moment didn't happen until about page 350. It's was a big letdown since I loved her books Just Listen and This Lullaby. She's been a disappointment lately, I must say. Her quality of work has greatly gone downhill. Dreamland was complete and utter trash, and Lock and Key was a huge waste of time, money, and paper. The idea of the story was 'okay'. The book is corny, the characters don't work, and there is absolutely no suspense. I didn't feel any emotion or pity for any of the characters. And the book basically just ended. I would never recommend this book to anyone, and I can't even bring myself to donate it to the library because I cannot let anyone go through the same agony of reading this horrid book. I only finished reading it because they whole time I was just hoping that it would start to get good. That didn't happen. I'm not a writer myself, but I just have to say that even the writing was bad. I couldn't help but think "no wonder you write for younger teens". I probably sound extremely cruel, but it's just irks me because I literally begged my dad to buy it for me. I should've bought The Bell Jar instead. That seemed like it had substance.

So today I am reading Shanghai Girls by Lisa See. I should finish it by the end of the day because I am speeding through books this summer. I've finished about 1-2 books a day. I have to say, Lisa See is probably one of my favorite writers ever! Her stories are engaging, and actually interesting. But they are all historic fiction novels that take place in Asia. So far the book is pretty good.

Today is a tiring day. It's groggy out and it's causing me to feel a little tired. In recent days, I've felt like a failure, and I still do.
